Who We Are
The team and institutional backing behind the nuclear fuel renaissance.
The Thesis
BLSK Energy was founded on an obvious premise: nuclear technology has evolved and fast reactors are the future. These new advanced reactors need a fuel supply chain that is domestic, affordable, and sustainable. BLSK's pyroprocessing technology is the foundation of that supply chain.
Advanced fast reactors are essential and inevitable. BLSK is building the fuel supply infrastructure they need.

Institutional Partnerships

BLSK Energy holds exclusive access to Argonne National Laboratory's detailed conceptual design for pyroprocessing through CRADA No. A25591. Argonne — designated as the nation's center for reactor development in 1947 — invented pyroprocessing and demonstrated it at engineering scale through the Integral Fast Reactor program. The Fuel Conditioning Facility, built and operated by the same team BLSK now works with, has been processing real irradiated fuel continuously since 1996. This 60+ year legacy of continuous R&D is the scientific foundation of BLSK's commercial pathway.

For BLSK, Merrick brings directly relevant experience in complex nuclear and high-containment environments, including DOE national laboratory support, hot cell and glovebox design, shielded and enclosed systems, and integrated facility and equipment engineering. Together, BLSK, Argonne, and Merrick are advancing the practical facility design needed to bring pyroprocessing from proven national-lab technology into deployable infrastructure.

EnergySolutions is a U.S.-based nuclear services company with deep experience across the nuclear facility lifecycle, from plant maintenance and project support to decommissioning, waste packaging, transportation, processing, and disposal. Its work includes major commercial nuclear decommissioning projects and operation of the Clive, Utah facility, a State of Utah-licensed commercial disposal site for specified low-level and mixed low-level radioactive waste streams. For BLSK, EnergySolutions brings practical execution, logistics, waste disposition, and lifecycle planning capabilities to the partnership to help bring pyroprocessing infrastructure to life.
